Abrasive Water Jet Cutting and Plasma Arc Cutting machining systems are used for specialized applications while our underwater machining capabilities allow for repair or modification of highly activated reactor internal components while maintaining personnel exposed ALARA. PCI’s Design Engineering Department can provide specially designed equipment or provide direction in modifying equipment from inventory if needed.

Our abrasive water jet machining process utilizes an ultra-high pressure intensifier pump that pressurizes water up to 55,000 psi, forcing it through a small nozzle, typically 0.10” in diameter. This generates a high-velocity water jet stream at speeds of up to 3,000 feet per second.
